Canterbury Rugby

Todd has presented to a number of Canterbury rugby teams. His first was to the Mitre 10 Cup team in their lead up to the 2016 season. It was a chance for the players to hear from another athlete on a similar journey, just in a different sporting context. Todd delved into his story and journey as a professional cricketer including dealing with loss, failure, injury, and expectation. He also spoke about career transformation and taking ownership of one’s career and life. The side went on to win the title that season and they continue to dominate the Mitre10 Cup. Todd has also spoken to the Crusader Knights squad at their 2018 pre-season camp. As potential future Crusaders players, the theme of the camp and speech was making the most of your opportunities. Todd discussed this with insight into his own career both on and off the field, and given the numerous questions and lines of enquiry from players and coaches alike, it was a valuable growth and learning experience.

St Margaret's College

Since 2017 Todd has been working with students at St Margaret's College involved in their sport accelerator programme. Ranging from individual lessons to larger group sessions, Todd has taught girls from year 9 through to year 13. The key focus of these mental skills sessions has been encouraging the awareness and understanding of tools including goal setting, mindfulness, positive self-talk, gratitude, planning and preparation, and coping with nerves, stress and distractions.

OBC Cricket Club

Prior to the 2016/17 cricket season, Todd lead an expectations and standards setting session for the club. It was a chance for all members of the senior club including both men and women to have their say on how they wanted to see their club run. "What measures should be put in place?", "What does a successful club look like?", and "How can we stay accountable?" were a number of the questions posed and answered. Following this session, the club and its playing members had a greater level of ownership and huge buy in to something bigger than just the individual. A mantra of beTHEclub was established, which effectively meant they wanted to be viewed as the club that others want to aspire to be like. Following on from this session, OBC had their most successful season since their merger in 2003, with the senior men winning the one day and two day premier titles, and the senior women winning a string of trophies over the past three seasons. Todd has since hosted follow up sessions and held a similar event with New Brighton Cricket Club.

Christ's College

In early 2019, Todd was honoured to speak alongside Crusader's coach Scott Robertson at the Trans-Tasman Cricket Festival dinner. Held annually, the event welcomes participating first XI teams across Australasia including Christ's College, Kings College Auckland, Canberra Grammar School and Shore School from Sydney. Emceed by Jason Gunn, Todd got the opportunity to speak to players, parents, coaches and teachers about his pathway from schoolboy cricket to representative, and then international cricket. Todd covered the many hurdles and valuable lessons he has learned along the way and covered topics including self-awareness, belief, routines, and resilience. Since 2020 Todd has also worked with the schools cricket programme.
